Our Story
The idea for SlicTec was originally created while I was a graduate student myself. My friends and I were graduating soon and we needed a way to show our talents as engineers and prove what we had learned in school. I decided to form a company and offer our engineering skills to individuals and small businesses in the form of Holgate Engineering, LLC. We soon found people with ideas who gave us the chance to show what we could do.
After completing multiple projects, the Holgate Engineering team finished graduate school and found careers as engineers and researchers in various fields. The vision and purpose of Holgate Engineering was a success! We were able to show individual talent and engineering skills in the form of inventions and product development for those who could not afford the high prices of engineering firms.
Now as a Mechanical Engineering Professor, I decided that the previous mission of Holgate Engineering should be rebuilt to once again provide opportunities for talented students to show their skills through SlicTec, LLC. Our hope in providing this service is to enable individuals and businesses without engineering resources to build their ideas and create their inventions at an affordable rate.
